Nursery and Early Years Foundation Stage

Nursery

At St. Ann’s Well Academy we offer funded nursey places for children aged 3 and 4 years.

We are fortunate to have a lovely outdoor environment which provides children with many opportunities to explore and learn about the natural world.

To broaden children’s experiences, we enjoy visits throughout the year to local areas including the City Farm, St Ann’s Valley centre library and the community orchard.

We aim to ignite children’s curiosity and enthusiasm for learning while helping them to build relationships with other children, preparing them for a move into Reception.

Our learning and development is built around three prime areas:

  • Communication and language
  • Physical development
  • Personal, social and emotional development

Easy transition from nursery to reception

Children attending nursery benefit from links with the school and joint activities with foundation year children which helps them transition as they move up to the next stage.
